Gabela - Drijeva

Whether it is Luka from the Chronicle of the Priest of Duklja, Drijeva - the customs or just Gabela, it has always been a crossroads of various peoples. Mentioned as early as the Roman period, it is first mentioned under the name Gabela in 1399. The remnants of the old city walls and the sculpture of the Venetian lion still speak of the history of this place...

Whether it is Luka from The Chronicle of the Priest of Duklja, Drijeva - the customs or just Gabela, it has always been a crossroads of various peoples. Mentioned as early as the Roman period, it is first mentioned under the name Gabela in 1399. The remnants of the old city walls and the sculpture of the Venetian lion still speak of the history of this place. In his book Homer's Blind Audience, R. S. Price states that this area fits into the story of Troy, and that Gabela itself was the former Ilios.
